> THERAPEUTIC INDICATION

VASTATOR belongs to a group of medicines called statins, which are involved in the regulation of lipids (fats).

VASTATOR is used to lower blood levels of the lipids called cholesterol and triglycerides when a low-fat diet combined with lifestyle changes are not enough. If you have risk factors for heart disease, VASTATOR may also be used to reduce your risk even if your cholesterol level is normal. You should continue to eat a standard low-cholesterol diet for the duration of treatment.

> DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Before you start treatment, your doctor will prescribe a low-cholesterol diet for you to follow for the duration of your treatment with VASTATOR.

The usual starting dose of VASTATOR is 10 mg once daily in adults and children aged 10 years or older. The dosage may be increased if necessary by your doctor to the dosage you need. The dosage will be adjusted by your doctor at intervals of at least 4 weeks. The maximum dose of VASTATOR is 80 mg once daily.
VASTATOR tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water and can be taken at any time of the day, with or without food. However, try to take your tablet at the same time every day.
Always take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The duration of treatment with VASTATOR film-coated tablet is determined by your doctor. If you think the effect of VASTATOR is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor.

> INDICATION THERAPEUTIQUE

UPRACID contains the active substance pantoprazole. UPRACID is a "selective proton pump inhibitor", a medicine that reduces the amount of acid your stomach produces. It is intended to treat acid-related stomach and intestinal conditions.
UPRACID is used in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over in :

  • the symptoms (e.g. heartburn, acid regurgitation, pain on swallowing) associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease caused by acid reflux from the stomach.
  • long-term management of reflux oesophagitis (inflammation of the oesophagus associated with gastric acid regurgitation) and prevention of its recurrence.

UPRACID is used in adults in :

  • Prevention of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)-induced gastric and duodenal ulcers (e.g. ibuprofen) in at-risk patients requiring continuous NSAID use.
  • Infection with a bacterium called Helicobacter pylori in patients with duodenal and gastric ulcers, in combination with two antibiotics (eradication therapy). The aim is to eliminate the bacteria and thus reduce the likelihood of recurrence of these ulcers;
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and other conditions that cause excess stomach acid.

> DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Always take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Mode d’administration
Take the tablets one hour before a meal without chewing or crushing them. Swallow them whole with a little water.

The recommended dose is :

 Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over

- For the treatment of symptoms (e.g. heartburn, acid regurgitation, pain on swallowing) associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease.

The usual dose is one tablet of UPRACID 20 per day. This dose usually brings relief within 2 to 4 weeks - at the latest after another 4 weeks. Your doctor will tell you how long you should continue to take this medicine. Afterwards, a possible recurrence of symptoms can be prevented by taking one tablet a day, if necessary.

-For long-term management and prevention of recurrence of reflux esophagitis
The usual dose is one UPRADIC 20 tablet per day. In case of relapse, the dose can be doubled. In this case you can use UPRACID 40 mg tablet, one tablet per day. After recovery, you can reduce the dose to one UPRACID 20 mg tablet per day.

-In the treatment of reflux esophagitis
The usual dose is one UPRACID 40 tablet per day. Your doctor may tell you to increase the dose to 2 tablets of UPRACID 40 per day. The usual duration of treatment for reflux esophagitis is 4 to 8 weeks. Your doctor will tell you how long you should continue to take the medicine.

Adults
-For the prevention of duodenal and gastric ulcers in patients who require continuous NSAID therapy
The usual dose is one tablet of UPRACID 20 per day.

- For the treatment of infection caused by a bacterium called Helicobacter pylori in patients with duodenal and gastric ulcers, in combination with two antibiotics (eradication therapy)

One UPRACID 40 tablet twice a day plus two antibiotic tablets, either amoxicillin or clarithromycin and metronidazole (or tinidazole) each taken twice a day with your pantoprazole tablet. Take the first pantoprazole tablet 1 hour before breakfast and the second pantoprazole tablet 1 hour before dinner. Follow your doctor's instructions and make sure you read the instructions for these antibiotics. The usual duration of treatment is one to two weeks.

- In the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers

The usual dose is one URPACID 40 tablet per day. After consulting your doctor, the dose may be doubled.
Your doctor will tell you how long you should continue to take the medicine. The usual duration of treatment for gastric ulcers is 4 to 8 weeks. The usual duration of treatment for duodenal ulcers is 2 to 4 weeks.

-  In the long-term treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and other conditions characterised by excessive gastric acid production.

The recommended starting dose is usually two tablets of UPRACID 40 per day.
Take both tablets 1 hour before a meal. Your doctor may adjust the dosage later depending on how much stomach acid you produce. If your doctor has prescribed more than two tablets a day, divide them into two doses.

 Patients with kidney problems

If you have kidney problems, you should not take UPRACID to eradicate Helicobacter pylori.If you have kidney problems, you should not take UPRACID to eradicate Helicobacter pylori. If you have kidney problems, you should not take UPRACID to eradicate Helicobacter pylori.

Patients with liver problems.

If you have severe liver problems, you should not take more than one 20 mg tablet a day.

> THERAPEUTIC INDICATION

LOPINE contains the active substance amlodipine which belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers.
LOPINE is used to treat increased blood pressure (hypertension), or a certain type of chest pain called angina, a rare form of which is Prinzmetal's angina.
In patients with high blood pressure, your medicine works by relaxing the blood vessels so that blood flows through them more easily.
In patients with angina, LOPINE works by improving the blood supply to the heart muscle so that it receives more oxygen, thus preventing chest pain. Your medicine does not provide immediate relief for angina-related chest pain.

> DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Always take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The usual starting dose of LOPINE is 5 mg once a day. This dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily.
Your medicine can be used before or after food and drink. It is best to take your medicine at the same time every day with a glass of water. Do not take LOPINE with grapefruit juice.
It is important to keep taking the tablets. Do not wait until you have taken all your tablets before consulting your doctor.
Use in children and adolescents: For children and adolescents (6 to 17 years of age), the usual recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg per day. The maximum recommended dose is 5 mg per day. LOPINE 2.5 mg tablets are not currently available.

> THERAPEUTIC INDICATION

DIAFORMINE contains metformin. It is a medicine used to treat diabetes. It belongs to a class of medicines called biguanides.
Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that allows your body to take up glucose (sugar) from the blood. Your body uses the glucose to make energy or stores it for later use.
When you have diabetes, your pancreas does not produce enough insulin or your body is not able to properly use the insulin it produces. This results in high blood sugar levels in your blood. DIAFORMINE helps to lower your blood sugar to as normal a level as possible.
If you are an overweight adult, long-term use of DIAFORMINE can also help limit the risk of complications associated with diabetes. DIAFORMINE is associated with weight stability or modest weight loss.
DIAFORMINE is used to treat type 2 diabetes (also known as "non-insulin dependent diabetes") when diet and exercise alone have not been sufficient to control blood glucose levels. It is particularly used in overweight patients.
Adult patients may take DIAFORMINE alone or with other diabetes medications (oral medications or insulin).
Children aged 10 years and over and adolescents may take DIAFORMINE alone or with insulin.

Recommended dose:

In children aged 10 years and over and adolescents, treatment is usually started with 500 mg or 850 mg of DIAFORMINE once daily. The maximum daily dose is 2000 mg in 2 or 3 separate doses. Treatment of children between 10 and 12 years of age is recommended only on the specific advice of your doctor, due to the limited experience in this age group.

In adults, treatment is usually started with 500 mg or 850 mg of DIAFORMINE two or three times daily. The maximum daily dose is 3000 mg in 3 separate doses.

If your kidney function is reduced, your doctor may prescribe a lower dose.

If you are also taking insulin, your doctor will tell you how much DIAFORMINE to take.

Monitoring

  • Your doctor will check your blood sugar regularly and adjust the dose of DIAFORMINE you take according to your blood sugar level. Be sure to see your doctor regularly. This is particularly important for children and adolescents or if you are elderly.
  • Your doctor will also check the condition of your kidneys at least once a year. More frequent checks may be necessary if you are elderly or if your kidneys are not functioning normally.

 

 

How to take DIAFORMINE, film-coated tablet

Take DIAFORMINE with or after a meal. This will help to avoid adverse effects on your digestion.
The tablets should not be crushed or chewed. Swallow each tablet with a glass of water.

  • If you take one dose a day, take it in the morning (with breakfast).
  • If you take two separate doses a day, take one in the morning (at breakfast) and one in the evening (at dinner).
  • If you take three separate doses a day, take one in the morning (at breakfast), one at noon (at lunch) and one at night (at dinner).

 

If, after a while, you feel that the effects of DIAFORMINE are too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Dosage
Rectal route: 1 suppository two or three times a day.
The frequency of administration can be reduced when the acute phase is well controlled.
For best results ANOMEX should be inserted deep into the rectum if possible after the stool.

How to use the suppository:

  1. To use, clean the entire area around the anus with mild soap and warm water and rinse thoroughly. Dry gently by blotting with toilet paper or a soft cloth
  2. Do not open the package if the suppository appears soft, hold the outer package under cold water or place in the refrigerator for a few minutes to harden before removing the package
  3. Position the patient lying on one side with knees bent on the stomach or lying on the back with feet and legs raised
  4. Detach the suppository by holding the strip vertically and carefully open the package evenly from both sides to the bottom (moisten the suppository if it is dry)
  5. Hold the suppository between the index finger and thumb, locate the anus and gently insert the suppository with the pointed end first using the index finger. The suppository should be fully inserted into the rectum.
  6. Hold the buttocks tight and lie still for about 30-60 seconds to prevent the suppository from coming out
  7. Discard the package and wash your hands thoroughly

This preparation is injected into the vein and will only be prescribed if your doctor feels that pantoprazole injections are more appropriate for you at that time than pantoprazole tablets. The tablets will replace the injections as soon as your doctor thinks it is appropriate.
UPRAJECT is indicated to treat :

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), an inflammation of the oesophagus (the tube connecting the throat to the stomach) accompanied by reflux of stomach acid.
Ulcers of the stomach and duodenum.
Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and other conditions that cause excessive production of gastric acid.

> DOSAGE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Mode of administration: Intravenous
Frequency of administration: Your nurse or doctor will give you the daily dose as an injection into a vein over 2 to 15 minutes.
Dosage: The recommended dose is as follows:
Stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers and reflux oesophagitis
One vial (40 mg pantoprazole) per day.
Long-term treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and other conditions causing excessive gastric acid production
Two vials (80 mg pantoprazole) per day.
Your doctor may need to adjust the dose later depending on how much stomach acid you produce. If your doctor prescribes more than two vials (80 mg) per day, the injections will be divided into two equal doses. Your doctor may prescribe a temporary dose of more than 4 vials (160 mg) per day. If rapid control of acid secretion is required, an initial dose of 160 mg (four vials) should provide sufficient acid reduction.
Patients with liver problems
In case of severe liver problems, the daily injection should be limited to 20 mg (half a vial).

UPRADONE is an anti-ulcer antiemetic which contains two active substances, pantoprazole and domperidone. Domperidone is a gastric motility modifier that allows food to pass through the oesophagus, stomach and intestine more quickly. The food bolus remains in these organs for a short period of time, thus preventing reflux.
UPRADONE is indicated in the following cases:

Reflux of oesophagitis (inflammation of the oesophagus accompanied by acid regurgitation from the stomach);
Helicobacter pylori infection in patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers, in combination with two antibiotics;
Active gastric and duodenal ulcers;
Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Dosage and administration
Capsules should be swallowed whole with water, preferably before meals. Do not open, break, chew or crush the capsules.
To treat reflux esophagitis: The usual dose is 1 capsule daily for 4 to 8 weeks. Your doctor may repeat the treatment with the same dose if necessary.
In the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection in combination with two antibiotics (eradication therapy), the usual dose of UPRADONE is 1 capsule twice daily before meals/breakfast with 500 mg clarithromycin morning and evening and 1 g amoxicillin morning and evening, for 7 to 14 days. Your doctor may prescribe other antibiotic combinations with UPRADONE.
Treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers: The usual dose is 1 capsule per day. Your doctor will advise you on the duration of treatment. The treatment period for duodenal ulcers is 2 to 4 weeks and treatment of gastric ulcers usually lasts 4 to 8 weeks.
Treatment of Zolliger-Ellison syndrome: The recommended initial dose is 2 capsules. The dosage may be adjusted depending on the severity. When your doctor increases the dose, it is recommended that the dose be divided into 2 doses.
