DOLIMEX Suppositories 125 mg

Infants from 6 to 10 kg (approximately 6 months to 1 year): 1 suppository of 125 mg, to be renewed if necessary, spacing the doses of at least 6 hours. The dose may be repeated up to a maximum of 4 suppositories per day.
Children from 11 kg to 20 kg (approximately 12 months to 6 years): 2 suppositories of 125 mg, to be renewed if necessary, spacing the doses of at least 6 hours. The dose can be renewed up to 4 suppositories per day maximum.

  • The number of suppositories to give your child will depend on his/her age and weight;
  • The recommended dosage is one to two suppositories;Ask your paediatrician or pharmacist how many suppositories you should give.

You can give up to 4 doses in 24 hours. Allow 4 hours between each dose.
If you are not sure how many suppositories to give your child, do not take any chances. Consult the paediatrician or pharmacist.
Do not give more suppositories than the number indicated below.

Your child’s bowels must be empty when this medicine is given. If your child needs to go to the toilet, make sure they do so before administering the suppository.

  1. Inserting the suppository will be easier if your child is lying on his or her stomach or side. Do what is most comfortable for your child.
  2. Wash your hands. Then remove the packaging to take out the suppository. Do not break the suppository before use.
  3. Gently insert the suppository into your child’s rectum with the tip facing forward. Then wash your hands.
  4. Try to hold your child still for one or two minutes.
  5. If your child needs another suppository, take another suppository out of the package and insert it into your child’s rectum as you did with the previous suppository. Again, try to hold your child still for one or two minutes. Then wash your hands.

Contact your paediatrician if your child’s symptoms get worse or do not improve.

> THERAPEUTIC INDICATION

This medicine is for oral use.
Shake the sachet before use. You should pour the contents of the sachet into a glass and then add a small amount of drink (e.g. water, milk, fruit juice). Stir and drink it or have your child drink it immediately afterwards.
In addition, if you or your child has a fever of more than 38.5°C, you can improve the effectiveness of the drug treatment by taking the following steps
- Uncover yourself or your child,
- Drink or have your child drink,
- Do not stay or leave your child in a place that is too warm.

> DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

In children, it is imperative to respect the dosages defined according to the child's weight and therefore to choose an adapted presentation. The approximate ages according to weight are given for information purposes.
The recommended daily dose of paracetamol is approximately 60 mg/kg/day, divided into 4 or 6 doses, i.e. approximately 15 mg/kg every 6 hours or 10 mg/kg every 4 hours.

 

DOLIMEX Sachets 200 mg

For children weighing 11 to 16 kg (about 18 months to 5 years), the dosage is 1 sachet per dose, to be repeated if necessary after 6 hours, without exceeding 4 sachets per day.
For children weighing 17 to 20 kg (about 4 to 7 years), the dosage is 1 sachet per dose, to be repeated if necessary after 4 hours, without exceeding 6 sachets per day.
For children weighing 21 to 25 kg (about 6 to 10 years), the dosage is 2 sachets per dose, to be repeated if necessary after 6 hours, without exceeding 8 sachets per day.

Warning: this presentation contains 1000 mg of paracetamol per unit: do not take 2 units at the same time.
In adults and children weighing more than 50 kg (from about 15 years old): the usual unit dosage is 1 sachet of 1000 mg per dose, to be repeated if necessary after at least 4 hours.
It is generally not necessary to exceed 3 g of paracetamol per day, i.e. 3 sachets per day.
However, in case of more intense pain, the maximum dosage can be increased to 4 g per day, i.e. 4 sachets per day.

> THERAPEUTIC INDICATION

DOLIMEX EFFERVESCENT is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer).
The active substance of this medicine is paracetamol. It is used to treat pain and/or fever, for example in the case of headaches, flu, toothache, aches and pains and painful periods. It may also be prescribed by your doctor for osteoarthritis pain.

Dose of paracetamol never to be exceeded

For an adult or a child weighing more than 27kg: It is generally not necessary to exceed 3 grams of paracetamol per day (i.e. 3 scored effervescent tablets per day). However, if you have more severe pain, and only on the advice of your doctor, the total dose may be increased to 4 grams of paracetamol per day (i.e. 4 scored effervescent tablets per day).
NEVER TAKE MORE THAN 4 GRAMS OF PARACETAMOL A DAY (taking into account all medicines containing paracetamol in their formula).
Special situations: The maximum daily dose should not exceed 60 mg/kg/day (but not exceed 3 g/day) in the following situations:
if you weigh less than 50 kg,
if you have liver disease or severe kidney disease,
if you drink alcohol frequently or have recently stopped drinking alcohol,
if you suffer from dehydration,
if you suffer from chronic malnutrition, for example,
if you are in a fasting period,
if you have recently lost a lot of weight,
if you are over 75 years old or over 65 years old and have long-term illnesses,
if you have AIDS or chronic viral hepatitis,
if you have cystic fibrosis (a genetic and hereditary disease characterised by severe respiratory infections), or if you have Gilbert's disease (a hereditary disease associated with increased levels of bilirubin in the blood).
This medicine is taken by mouth.
You should dissolve the tablet in a glass of water. Wait until the tablet is completely dissolved before drinking the contents of the glass immediately afterwards.

Frequency of administration
Regular dosing will prevent the pain or fever from returning: see section "Dosage".
In children, doses should be taken at regular intervals, including at night, preferably 6 hours apart, and at least 4 hours apart.
In adults, doses should be taken at least 4 hours apart.
In case of severe kidney disease (severe renal failure), you should wait at least 8 hours between each dose.
If you feel that the effect of DOLIMEX is too strong or too weak, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Duration of treatment
Unless advised by your doctor, the duration of treatment is limited to :

5 days in case of pain,
3 days in case of fever
If the pain persists for more than 5 days or the fever for more than 3 days, or if they worsen, do not continue the treatment without the advice of your doctor.

Always take this medicine strictly as directed by your doctor. If you are not sure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
It is advisable to take TRACEDOL for as short a time as possible.
TRACEDOL is not suitable for children under the age of 12.
The dose should be adjusted according to the intensity of your pain and your personal sensitivity to pain. In general, the lowest dose that relieves pain should be taken.
The recommended starting dose for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age, unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, is 2 effervescent tablets.
Additional doses may be given as required; follow your doctor’s prescription.
The interval between doses should be at least 6 hours.
Do not take more than 8 effervescent tablets of TRACEDOL per day.
Do not take TRACEDOL more often than your doctor has prescribed.

Elderly Patients
In elderly patients (over 75 years of age), the elimination of tramadol may be delayed. In this case, your doctor may advise you to take it more often.

Severe liver or kidney disease (hepatic/renal failure)/patients on dialysis
Patients with severe liver and/or kidney failure should not take TRACEDOL. If you have mild to moderate insufficiency, your doctor may recommend that you take TRACEDOL less frequently.

How to take it
Effervescent tablets are for oral use. The effervescent tablets should be dissolved in a glass of water.

If you feel that the effect of TRACEDOL is too strong (e.g. you feel very drowsy or have difficulty breathing) or too weak (e.g. insufficient pain relief), contact your doctor.

The drug is administered using the oral syringe (graduated in kg) which delivers a dose of 7 mg/kg per dose.
The dose to be administered for 1 dose is obtained by drawing up the suspension by pulling the plunger of the syringe for oral administration to the scale corresponding to the child’s weight.

For each dose:

  • up to 30 kg: fill the syringe to the weight mark.
  • Above 30 kg: there are more suitable dosage forms.

How to take it
Take by mouth. Shake the bottle well before use. Make the patient drink water after taking the solution.

In children aged 3 months to 6 months, if this medicine is needed for more than 24 hours, or if the symptoms worsen, it is advisable to consult your doctor.
In children over 6 months of age and adolescents, if this medicine is needed for more than 3 days, or if the symptoms worsen, you should consult your doctor.

This medicine is intended for adults (from 15 years of age), for a short period of time, in :
local treatment in case of benign trauma: sprain, contusion;
local treatment of pain of muscular and tendino-ligamentary origin;
symptomatic treatment of painful arthrosis flare-ups, after at least one medical opinion.

> DOSAGE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Dosage and duration of treatment
For adults only (from 15 years of age). Dosage depends on the indication. The occurrence of adverse effects can be minimised by using the lowest possible dose for the shortest duration of treatment necessary to relieve the symptoms.

Minor trauma: sprain, contusion
1 local application, 2 to 3 times a day, for a maximum of 4 days. If the pain persists beyond this period, a doctor should be consulted. The dose administered at each application should not exceed 2.5 g of gel. This maximum dose corresponds to a 6 cm strip of gel.

Pain of muscular and tendino-ligamentary origin
As an additional treatment: 1 local application, 3 to 4 times a day, for a maximum of 7 days. If the pain persists beyond this period, a doctor should be consulted. The dose administered at each application should not exceed 2.5 g of gel. This maximum dose corresponds to a 6 cm tape.

Painful flare-ups of osteoarthritis
Only after initial medical advice.
Symptomatic treatment: 1 local application, 3 to 4 times a day, for 7 days. The treatment can be continued, if necessary, for a maximum of 14 days. If pain persists beyond this period, a doctor should be consulted.
The dose given at each application should not exceed 4 g of gel. This corresponds to a ribbon of approximately 10 cm.

Special Populations
Children and adolescents under 15 years of age: This medicine should not be used in children and adolescents under 15 years of age (see « Never use LOFNAC GEL »).
Elderly subjects: This medicinal product should be used with caution in the elderly who are more prone to adverse reactions (see sections 4.4 and 4.8).

Method of administration
Local use. Apply the gel by gentle and prolonged massage to the painful or inflammatory area. Wash your hands thoroughly after each use (except in the case of a painful flare-up of osteoarthritis of the fingers, if you apply the product to yourself).
